I've been happy with the DAC and line transformers from Sowter. They are helpful in terms of questions also.My interstage, MC step-up and output transformers are Lundahl. I never tried Sowter in these applications.
The dac transformers are excellent, and worth the money. The PP outputs are also excellent generally, and this is perhaps why they are expensive: Sowter makes values not available from Hammond.
Their price for value is high for something I would have a hard time sourcing elsewhere.
Sonically the PP OPT's are better than Hammond, but probably not as good as Mr Jack's from Nevada. Are they the equal of the Dynaclones, probably yes. I do not know the Single Ended.
So, have fun, and the general answer is yes, but for the same values that I can get from Dynaclone, in the US I will choose Dynaclone, but for other value, like the 16K 80W for 813's, I will choose Sowter, and pay the price.
I have just had a new transformer custom knitted and potted by Sowter. They are probably a touch more money than the others but so is Rolls Royce and the personal service by Brian Sowter in design is probably better than one can expect anywhere.
Highly Recommended!.
Its kind of like its the pro audio industry standard kit anyway.
