Never been able to find a schematic for this amp. It has a tube socket labeled X1. It apparently needs a tube shield that is also missing. The tabs on the socket for the tube shield are painted green.
Anyone have any idea what this is?

Hi: I have a schematic for a MO30 power amp, probably similar. Two 6L6GC, GZ34/5AR4 rectifier, 12AX7 phase splitter, 6C4 input stage. The socket you refer to is for an input transformer that gives a balanced Lo-Z input for commercial use, not needed for Hi-Fi use.
Can fax schematic, no way to scan for emailing.
Al,Now why would a lo-z balanced line be inappropriate for HiFi use? It's a superior connection, lower noise with common mode noise rejection. Beleive it or don't there are some enthusaists that reject the RCA type plug and use l0-z "cannon type" connectors to connect a preamp to a power amp - especially if they are serparated by some distance.
What makes this "not HiFi" is that the amplifier is a complete powered PA mixer taking both hi-Z and, with the tranny, lo-Z signal level inputs - it has its own preamps and tone controls as well as an ouput transformer with taps to match many different loads. While the bandwidth on these old Bogens is respectable it's not HiFi and probably doesn't drop much below 40 Hz - haven't checked out the high end.
Genereally the best use IMNO is to make an "acoustic" guitar amplifier with a wide range cabinet - I've done so many times successfully.
Hi Rob:
Unless I'm badly mistaken, this is not a mixer amp, it is a monoblock power amp.
Al
The socket is for an impedance matching tranny to allow you to use low-Z mic.
