Hi ,
No idea about what you mean by sounding 'fast' . Do a Google search for 'Monkey' , 'Full Monkey' and 'Free lunch' or even look for Loftin and White circuitscheers
Follow Ups:
Hi.He asked how fast direct coupling SE amp sound.
You told him how to build a DC powerstage because you've no clue about how fast at all it would sound.
Another farting movement from you again?
What you told us only tinted me you never listen to what you build since you got no clue what "fast" sounding means.
Jesus Murphy !!!
I don't have any idea either. Seemes to me that DC coupling would affect (improve) the low frequency response, but not the high frequency response. Is 'sounding fast' related to high frequency response??? If so, what does DC coupling have to do with it?
Hi.It sounds light, breezy, & effortless to rise from low low to very loud volumes without dragging its feet.
This sonic effect demands a lot in the amps dynamic response & phase
response which PROPSERLY designed direct couple amp can offer better than the best transformer or cap coupling.More on this direct coupling topology later.
I believe what you are describing could be described as slew rate, the speed at which the amplifier can get to one voltage to the next. It's kind of related to frequency response, but not entirely.Off hand, I can't see why a DC coupled amp would inherently have a better slew rate than a cap coupled one, but I am open to an explanation. Transformer coupling is another issue.
By the way, I have designed/used DC coupled amps. While they work in theory, when things go wrong (loose driver tube, different warm up characteristics between tubes, etc) it can be disastrous. I lost a 300B to warm up problems.
Dear Menstrual-Jack ,
People use the word 'fast' to describe different aspects of sound . It could be referring to timbre , or bass or anything hence my comment . I do know how a DC coupled amp (not powerstage!!!) sounds as I've built one . Have you ? The poster asked regarding SE which I cannot assist with any further hence the mention of projects by other inmates here . So what's the problem ? Is it your time of the month or something ?cheers
.
It can be arranged.

Memo bis punitor delicatum! It's all there, black and white,
clear as crystal! Blah, blah, and so on and so forth ...

Hi ,
Ok , I'm out of here . He's all yours !cheers
Everytime I mention the theory that cheap-jack is nothing other than Andre Jute disguised as a Chinaman, my post gets removed by the moderator.
And you wonder why your posts get deleted?

Hi,Why not just ignore idiots?
I do practice that now adays and I havn't had an argue with for example the other one mentioned for long now.
Hi ,
You are right I should just ignore the idiots here . After all it's easy , there's only one !cheers
Hey FB,There are 2 sayings that come to mind ...
Don't argue with idiots. A passer by might not be able to tell the difference.
and
Don't argue with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.
It's real hard though and I sympathise however what I do that can work is write the reply and then sit on it for 10 mins. Usually time disapates the "problem" and the reply then never gets sent. Plus it allows you to vent without consequences i.e. antagonising the id£$%
I wouldn't take the vacation if I were you. Just know what you're dealing with and moooooove on.
