Hi everyone. This is my first post in the tape forum and I need some help. I picked up a BIC T-4M in great cosmetic shape for $9.98 this weekend at the DAV. The fast forward and fast rewind works but it will not play. I took the top off to see if I could spot the problem and found that the belt for play is very loose and doesn't turn the flywheel. I searched the archives and there was no mention of where to purchase this belt or a part number, not much on the T-4M at all really. If someone could help me out I could get this thing running hopefully. Thanks for your time.

Only BIC belt info I can find is for a T-1 and that cross-reference is for a FRX8.8 belt - a flat rubber belt 8.8" inner circumference, .187" wide by .034" thick. If this doesn't seem close, measure the belt as best you can remembering to subtract "somthing" for the stretched length and do an Internet search for "turntable belts". If all else fails call Dick Kinsey 803-787-1626. He has or can get any rubber belt known to Mankind.Merry Christmas
Try www.vintage-electronics.cc He doesn't indicate that he has belts for BIC but takes all inquiries and may be able to cross to the manufacturer of this deck. Good luck.
Try Ebay. I have seen a source for belts there. Let me know how it sounds!!!
