Tascam,A Hundred times more reliable..Regardless of what people say Naks are not the Holy Grail of cassette deck's.If you want something that has to be serviced once a year get a Nak,but if you want a deck that's solid as a rock get the Tascam..

Thank's, folk's. Tascam it shall be.
Then again, let me toss this choice at you: Revox 215
or Tandberg 330 - 340 - 440?
Tandberg sounds wonderfully,tru magic, but is unreliable. Your best bet is 330 because it was built better than 440.Revox sounds good and is built like a tank. Also, seem to be relativelly easy to repair.
So, if you are in collection mood, get both of them. It's like having a unreliable british sppedster that is fun to drive and boring German sedan that is reliable. If buying only one, buy Revox.
Tandberg decks have always been coveted, I don't know why, maybe it's the blue meters. I know they aren't terribly reliable, hard to get parts and they never made my foot tap. Any Revox product is good but always over priced.
Well, I'm probably going to get two different makes,
but if you think my brain has turned to mush trying to
figure all this out, wait until I ask for an explaination
of all the different tape brands and types. Just want to
transcribe from vinyl and FM. I've lost a little hearing at
the high end anyway, so perfection would probably be overkill.thank's;
