Hi,Well, I think eBay Germany prices on decks are still mostly O.K.
Just received Sony TC-K 990ES, champagne, with manuals, wooden panels and remote,
In really “LIKE NEW” condition, for 290 Euro total.
Looks like never used. In the days this was new, no way I could afford this machine.
Kind a different story with Naks, some of the prices in Europe are just stupid.
Prices are almost as they were new, but the decks are mostly close to worn out.Regards

Well. It's a free market. more supply-> prices down. The more demand, prices up. Right! Prices are mostly ok... or not??
I consider another point of view.
In the end, we are talking about buying useless devices for most of the people nowadays. You can't say it's a good deal to spend 1/10 of the original price for a new deck. It's useless for most of the people!
Its value may be zero.We are a bunch of romantics/collectors/etc that still buy and pay for them. But there are thousands of decks with no use. I would pay a some money for a rare deck, but not for a just high end deck.
This is just another point of view. I don't really follow it, I paid 200 euros for a similar ranged deck, and more for a older very used deck. But I don't want to mentally get used to these prices. They should be less, like in the US.
So which brand(s) and model(s) qualify as a RARE cassette deck from your point of view? Thanks.
I'm no expert, nor a long time collector. This is just my opinion. For me, Rare/valuable decks are Those which were both, high end decks and not produced in a reasonable quantity or widely distributed
It is very uncommon to see BIC decks on sale on eBay Germany, or Tanderg TD-910 or even 3014, Pioneer CT-A1, SONY TC-KA7ES, Hitachi D-2200MB /D-5000Mb etc.
These are special collector items that may be worth some more money. In my opinion, they should be more expensive than a Nakamichi CR-7, or a DRAGON, which are always two or three on sale on ebay. Anyway, no more than 400 Euros/dollars
