Yes,it is the same stuff by MG Chemicals. actually i misspelt it. It is spelled Rubber Renue. I tried it but it seems to remove so much black stuff from the pinch roller that i thought it might be overkill and wondered if i should go easy on its application or stop using it altogether. Also it smells awfully bad. It is used alot in the computer industry for cleaning rubber parts and such in printers. so i had my doubts. Thanks for your help.

My ex wife did a stint many years ago in a big mainframe installation when she started training as a programmer for the phone company. One of the jobs she rotated through was cleaning the multitudes of tape drives. Part of the newb's performance review was based on how much black stuff they got off the pinch rollers. The supervisor would white glove them and log the condition of the rollers in the personnel files.
do you guys take off the pinch roller before cleaning or do you just clean what you can ??
i just clean as it rolls as i presume most do. in fact i never heard of doing otherwise, as an amateur hobbyist anyway.
