I took the back off and cannot get to the motors there is a metal cage in front of where they would be inside the cage are printed circuit boards. Looks like I'll have to wait for the service manual. It is very clean and looks great inside, it also looks almost new outside. I bought it from an eBay seller that speciallies in Reel to Reel parts and restoration. He claimed the machine was lubracated and serviced, and based on appearance and the great 90 tape I made I believe it was. Just my bad luck it quit working just days after getting it.I ordered the Service Manual yesterday, so I will look it over to find out how to get to the capstan motor which logically be directly behind the capstan.

If you don't mind my asking, which ebay seller did you buy it from? I have bought a couple of decks on ebay from a guy who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, even after the sale is made. Perhaps you could contact your seller for advice.
He doesn't have an "About Me" page, but I would guess he fixes up Reel to Reel decks and sells parts from the ones he can't.I ordered the Service Manual from another eBay seller and will look inside to see if I tell if it's the belt or the capstan motor that went out. But it was all sounding so great, I was listening to a London ffst tape and it just stopped. The deck was well cared for even inside it looked great and outside it looks almost brand new.
I hope it is an easy fix and I can get back to spinning reels again, here is a link to his store.
