I live in Oregon, just south of Portland..
Follow Ups:
I thought I had sold it, then found it in the garage the other day. Long time ago, I packed it up and dragged it along, and my issue may just be simple or belt/pulley. This person in Van Nuys I believe was recommended by 2 or 3 people on AA and also the tech for a well known dealer and has a good rep. I also have an old R2R from Tandberg which needs help.
I see....well, I've got two TCD310MkII's and I've had both completely apart and back together, cleaning, replacing bulbs, repairing small stuff, and lubriplating...I'm starting to think maybe I'm the person I'm looking for ... *haw haw*...
Anyway....we'll see, once that Caig Rubber Restorer arrives....(hopefully today or tomorrow)
I will keep all who are innerested posted.
Thanks to awl who care about this kind of thing
My 9041X is probably the finest sounding source I had in the past, perhaps ahead of my Linn LP12/etc. but I never got R2R prerecorded tapes. I suspect belt, lube, mini fix and return to function, but all of these Tandbergs are notorious for being a bit fussy. Mine powers up, the reels move a bit together, then frozen. Belt is probably stretched and off the pulleys. No time, so little free space, with family, work, church, etc.
