Hello,I have a friend who would like to sell a NAD 6300 cassette deck. I was thinking of buying it, but I'm wondering if it is any good? Also, what do you think would be a fair price for it? The thing looks like new but he doesn't have the remote.

Thanks guys,I just bought the 6300 today. The unit plays perfectly. Man, it sounds awesome. It is definitely an upgrade over my old Sony deck.
My friend found the instruction manual, but he still can't seem to locate the remote. I will have to look for a universal remote. Anyone know where I could find one of those?
NAD 6300 has awesome sound and it is fun to use - only couple of buttons - a case study of minimalist design. IMHO, the only NAD tape deck worth buying. You can find an universal remote with NAD codes for $15 or so.
What it is worth is hard to say - anywhere between $100 and $200 would be a fair deal. Perhaps you could swap it for something he likes and that way avoid seller's remorse on his side. If I were him, I would not sell it.
I agree with Bobp - excellent deck and NAD's best ever. (dual caps etc) One up from the 6100. The only other NAD apart from these two wirth considering would be the 6340 which had a particularly well resolved sound and good transport stability.
