Yeah, that's an auto-reply. He's been a busy beaver, but luckily, I've a spambot basher that takes care of 99% of this garbage. I'm not sure how much registration would slow them down. We'd still have to catch them, delete the posts and ban the account. Then, they'd re-register.Oh, well, hopefully he's done. 641 posts in 3 days for cheap tickets, affiliate programs, auto insurance and of course, viagra.

Great comments guys. Peter FDA

Depends on whether it's being done manually or if it's just a robot that tripped over the asylum and found the posting forms that it could use. If it's not being done with the aid of a human being then a mandatory login would likely end it. Did you get any in the forums that require a login?
I know you hate our html, but exactly what do you hate the most?Yes, the font tags are anyiquated by newer standards, but most everything else seems pretty simple and straight forward. I was looking at some other sites and the abuse was amazing. Even with syle sheets, they were over riding style on nearly every tag. I know the comments on the main pages add a bit. While they seem silly, all the admin and threading code keys on them. However, they waste a lot less than vBulletin's partial message text added to every single topic line. I could probably cut the comments to one letter keys which would cut them in half.
Anyway, what else? If I'm going to clean things up, I want to do it once and do it right.
Yeah, the replies were up in a different part of the code and came first.I'm not sure on the bot. Posts were a minute or two apart which would seem to be manual. OTOH, IPs changed on every post, so something else was also going on with proxies. No, he didn't hit the login forums.
