Coincidence Partial Eclipse, Merlin TSM-M, Joseph Audio RM-25siHas anyone heard or compared these speakers? Thinking about some new, smaller speakers in the near future.
Thanks.
Follow Ups:
It is my understanding that the partial-eclipse is still a decent sized floorstander over 3 feet high, so comparing it to TSM-M, a monitor, is a little apples and oranges.I will say that in my last speaker purchase I was got my choices downt to the vsm-m and the super eclipse. I ended up with the Merlin's, but would of had absolutely zero problem with the Coincident's. Israel Blume of Coincident and Bobby Palkovich of Merlin are two of the nicest guys I've corresponded with in hifi, so can't go wrong either way.
No real knowledge of the Joseph Audio speakers. I will say that the VSM-M's are to die for.
Good luck.
I own a pair of Joseph Audio RM25si's and can't find any fault with them at all. I've had them for 9 months and have played lots of vinyl, CD and HDCD through them. My ears give out before the speakers do, when I crank it 'way up. It all sounds great, as long as the source material is OK. In my living room, the tonal balance and bass detail is perfect.
The only other speakers in their price range I would recommend are the Mark II version, though if you can find a new pair of the original RM25si at a discount, you won't feel slighted by the sound quality at all.
If you want a very musical but somewhat less detailed, heavier bass speaker for less than the RM25si Mark II, try the PSB Gold i.

Hi Todd,I've never heard the other two speakers, but I can vouch for the Merlin's. If you are looking for stand mount monitors, the TSM-M's are fantastic. No glossing over bad material, but they are not bright either, just detailed and totally engrossing with the right electronics and cables. I am using a REL sub, but I could live without it if I had to.
Go give `em a listen before you buy anything.

Finally got mine updated and the difference is well worth the scratch isn't it!Smoother, yet more detail. Smoother mid-upper bass to lower mids transition. Drivers seem better integrated because vocals are more 'whole' and emotional.
I also picked-up a SF Line-3SE and I'm a very happy camper. I was somewhat concerned that this unit might be slightly to analytical or 'solid-state' sounding, but while it definitely isn't 'tubey', I'm really impressed with what I can only think is the unit's neutrality. Haven't seen any reviews on the SE and probably won't but I don't need print media to tell me what my ears already know.
BTW, Happy New Year!
