Where can I purchase sound absorbing felt (the black felt attached around tweeters of BBC LS3/5A, Duntech, Dunlavy models)?
Follow Ups:
Any craft store should carry felt. You may have trouble finding the thickness you have seen on the referenced LS3/5a tweeter surround, but if you go to a carpet store they should have remnants of the foam (used to be felt) padding they use under carpeting. This comes in various thicknesses and works extremely well. The coloration can be a little funky, but a cheap bottle of black shoe dye should handle that problem.
McMaster-Carr stocks industrial felting in various thicknesses. Not sure on the minimum order tho. Also check local fabric supply stores. I've made felt pads by "laminating" layers of felt using a soft "flex" type fabric glue. (notice, I'll make one posting in this thread, not 7 or 8!)PS
Look under felt in the yellow pages. Fabric stores might have it too but often just the thin stuff. It probably can be had online too. Just do a search.
