Hello,
I upgraded my system with new CD player - Rotel 991AE and new amp - Electrocompaniet ECI3.
Need advice on speakers. I would like to buy small floor standers under 2K. My listening room
is 18 square meters ( approximate 55 sq. feet's). I listen mostly jazz but blues and soul too.Best regards
Vlado

Dear Vlado,Try models by the French company Triangle. They offer great value for money at your price range.

I'm sure you've encountered them here already but you might consider the GR Research Paradox 3.They are great sounding speakers at a good price.
Have fun

Your room (about 200 sqft) is not nearly big enough for B&W 801s and they are also a bit out of your price range unless you go for a really old one.If you are willing to build your own cabinets (it isn't that difficult) I would suggest looking at the North Creek Vision Signature (www.northcreekmusic.com). You could pick a version of the Rhythm if the $2600 price is too high, but that speaker is a bit larger. The driver and crossover quality is stunning and their speakers have incredible feedback on audioreview.com.
Do not limit yourself to floorstanders, your music doesn't require deep bass and monitor speakers on stands is a quite reasonable option.
Are you willing to buy used speakers? Audiogon (www.audiogon.com) has many interesting offers like ProAc 2.5 (2500), Audio Physic Virgo (2490, don't know whether you would consider them small), Alon Lotus SE (1950), Thiel CS3.6 (1700). I have only heard the Virgo and that is an exceptional speaker.

55 square feet seems awfully small, jail cells are 100 (10' by 10')-do you plan to add a sub-woofer someday? what have you listened to?
Colin,
You'll right. My unit conversion was wrong.
The listening room is approximate 200 square feet.P.S. Your comparison with the dimension of jail cells is
rendering, but I am not familiar in this branch.Regards
Vlado
