The audio dealer in my area dosen't have the 3A in the store.
I like the 2 am wondering if 3 is that much better.

monstrous difference! didn't care for the 2ce sigs. but i heard the 3a sigs and was bowled over. i went from not being all that wowed by vandersteens to wanting to hear more. if you're considering the two, go with the 3a sigs.
I had the chance to compare both side by side... ahhhhh man what a difference !The bass on the 3A Sig is MUCH deeper with greater impact, imaging is much more realistic and the sound is silky smooth. The 2Ce is not bad but just an advice: don't listen at the 3A Sig first or you will find the 2Ce so much inferior in all domains. The 3A Sig worth every penny !
I have listened to both the 2ces and 3signature quite a bit with a few differant amps.
There are differances between the two but they are not very big the 3s have a little better bottom end. the mids and highs seem the same to me though some might differ the parts are almost identical.
The bigger question might be how big is your room the 2s seem to be better in a smaller room and the 3s really need a bigger room.
I love the 2ces with the right amp there great sounding.

Ditto what Mark said. I have 2ce signatures in a 13.5'x15.5'x7' plenty of low-end slam and volume to spare. Hell if I crank my AI preamp dual attenuators past 11AM, the sound is simply ear splitting. You need to mate the 2ce signatures with a high current ss amp to get the best out of the low end. An Odyssey stratos, McCormack 125, Belles 150A hot rod, or even better a modified McCormack DNA 1 or Belles 350A really bring out the low end nicely. I chose the Odyssey stratos.

Yeah it's better but not a huge difference.. how many more $$?
My 3A's have upset the breeding pattern of the blue whales in the nearby Santa Barbara Channel...but they do like plenty of power.
I can't answer your question because I haven't heard the 2, unless you want me to compare the 2C which the 3A Sigs replaced. The 2C's are an old model that the 3A (non-sig) blows away. The 3A Sig is another big step up.Since you mentioned $ in the title, I'd ask if you've checked Audiogon. There is a pair of 2Ce Sigs for sale at $1000 and a pair of 3A sigs for $2600 (a little high I think). Just make sure the 2Ce's are upgradable (via Richard Vandersteen). I'm not sure they all are - you'd might need to check the serial number.
