There is a pair for sale on Audiogon.....Are they in production? Could be!jb
Follow Ups:
Believe it they are in production. I have just auditioned a pair in Hong Kong. They sell here for USD6800.. They look great, but that said they are now finished in a middle matt finish instead of the high gloss of the Armati’s and the Guarneri’s. Somehow it just doesn’t seem so luxurious. They have new binding posts, which mean you can really tighten the suckers and get a good connection even with just the fingers. However, the speakers are not bi-wirable :(I auditioned them against a pair of Guarneri's, with Nu-vista integrated and 3D CD player. As a first impression I found the Cermona's had a lot more presence and weight but the top end a littler brighter and not so sweet as the Guarneri's. However, this probably owes something to the fact the speakers only came into the shop only two days ago.
Therefore, I will be going back in a month’s time once they have had time to settle in.
What are the binding posts? Looks like WBT like that of Amati in the pictures but the pictures are admittedly low quality so I am not sure? I really hope not, I absolutely HATE those big oversized WBT posts.
I saw an ad for Cremona on Japanese Audio mag. Stereo Sound's most recent publication. Looks great!
Hey can u scan the pix and email it to me? I probably wont be seein the real Cremona till end of February when the next SF shipment arrives.
So the first Cremona in Manila will not arrive until end of Feb? I bet that one pair will be gone in a matter of weeks (or days?). :)My vacation back in Manila is over, so I'll just wait for Beijing's first pair of Cremona to arrive. It'll probably arrive sooner than Upscale's first pair. And I'll probably get the first pair ever to reach Beijing... if the sound is as good as described in early comments, and if the dealer doesn't inflate the price of the first pair ridiculously. I expect it to be around US$ 6000 here... pretty much the same as the Guarneri's price.
But after knowing that much of the material luxuries of the Guarneri and Amati has been omitted in the Cremona, I'm still considering the Guarneri. It will be a "let's just see" situation, then. :)
Happy 2002 to all.
Whadda they look like?
ok
Maybe these have been posted before, but this is one picture.
An other one is at http://www.hifi-notes.com/images/cremona2a.jpg
