Is the extra $$ on the Concerto worth it if I have a sub?
Thanks.
Follow Ups:
Owned them for quite a while. Very musical speakers and a big improvement over the Concertinos, even if you have a good sub. I ended up selling mine after I heard the Sapphire III LEs, but that is a whole other story.
I have both pairs still. I can tell you the the extra money for the concerto is money well spent. The concertino is too light on bass to faithfully reproduce most music. Having said that I couldn't bring myself to sell my concertinos and will use them as a second pair and as surrounds for my main system.By the way concertos need at lease 60 watts to shine and sound great with tube gear. Also the REL Strata sub-woofer goes well with either sonus faber.
Follow the music.
I would recommend that you get a pair of GR Research Paradox 1's. It will beat both the speakers you mentioned for around $500 a pair. To get to the level of the Paradox 1's in the Sonus Faber Line you would have to move up to the Signums.
