Add Your Review for the victory |
I am writing this review in hopes of helping those like myself ,who were not willing to purchase horns, because of any number of reasons, the least being the "wife acceptance thing",who wanted to experience the magic of SET'S,without having to make too great a compromise, when it came to dynamics, volume, and bass.I purchased the VICTORY'S after owning a pair of 8ohm 90 db speakers, which for me ,left something to be desired ,when it came to enjoyimg my 45,and 2A3 triode amps. The Victory speaker allowed my SET'S to exhibit their purity of tone,a richness of textures, along with "AIR",and that psychedelic sense of presence that I just KNEW my amps were capable of.And with my Fi that uses a KR2A3....GREAT BASS. The 14ohm load allows my amps to sing effortlessly. The Victory has a ribon tweeter that blends in seamlessly with the 2 midrange diaphrams and 2 drivers. For those who just will not do the "horn thing",these are beautiful alternatives, for the flea powered amp crowd.

can you compare the fi and korneff on these speakers? thanks.
The Fi 2A3 has stronger bass than the Jeff Korneff 45,but this has to do with the power output I'm sure. The 45 has more "AIR" ,and a more relaxed ,natural sound than the Fi.Both amps are simply marvalous with the Victory speaker but there sonic signature is different.I like them both ,and their use depends on what type of music I am listening to.The Fi for pop and rock...the 45 for vocals and jazz. However the Fi does jazz and vocals beautiful also. It's nice to own them both.
thanks. I suspect it has to do with the power tubes too. I've used both 45 and 2a3 with my X. The 45 does have some naturalness and separation, and something special to it. But now i've been running a new pair of sovtek which is lusher. When did you buy your fi, may i ask?
I purchased my Fi recently.....
Did you compare them to the Super Eclipse?
