Hello
I've narrowed it down to what I feel are the two best values under 800 bucks (pair) in my area. Paradigm monitor 7s vs PSB Image series 4T. I have auditioned both, but not side by side - any of you folks have an opinion that could swing me either way? Thanks
Follow Ups:
Seems like a Yankees-Mets rivalry between these two companies. Each side really seems to have fairly staunch backers. Listen loud to some favorites for a couple of sessions and try to determine if either speaker faitigues you. If you still can't decide, go on looks, which can have a pretty good psychological impact IMO.
Thanks folks.I chose the paradigms. I felt that both offered great value - the M7s cost marginally more - still a STEAL for 650 list - but the 4T's were a great bargain at about 100 bucks less.
The paradigm has that 1" titanium tweeter though - a mid range that did surpass the PSBs as well as anything under 1000 bucks, and real solid construction. Definite keepers. The PSBs did seem to have a little edge on focus, initially anyway, but I keep going back and forth on that.
Incidentally as a New Yorker, I love both the Mets and the Yanks. I did however root for the Mets in the series last year.

I don't know if it helps at all or not because I have not auditioned the Paradigms, but I felt that the PSB 4T's lacked a little on the lower end. I own the Image 1b bookshelfs and am EXTREMELY pleased with the results, but when I was comparing the 4t's to the 5t's (the 6 1/2 version) the 5's just seemed to sound more solid. Both were very smooth in my opinion because of the same tweeter, but with the music I was listening to, I wanted a lil' more "oomph" on certain situations.. hope this helps.

PS - i think the 5T's will run you $800 on the nose MSRP.
I feel both to be fine speakers. My vote would go to the Paradigm. Their tweeter they use in the monitor series is fantastic. Dollar for dollar, Paradigm's offer superb value. For a little more, the monitor 11v2 is a killer. I like the styling of the PSB's a little better, but if sound quality is the deciding factor, Paradigm.
