I just want to acknowledge the excellent service I have received this week from Thiel. A woofer on my 2.3's was making very irritating noises at certain frequencies, so I called Thiel. Gary told me to send it in, promising (unprompted) to get it back quickly, repaired or replaced. Well, I sent it last Tuesday, and receieved it back today, 7 days later. No, it is not exactly the same woofer, it is a replacement. I have sent the other woofer in previously and had the same service, and a mid/tweeter unit.
I just want to post this because I occasionally see a post in this forum that says "try getting this service from Thiel!" or something similar, as if Thiel has poor service. I just want to acknowledge that all service I have received from them has been unexpectadly quick, and always without any charge. Can't beat that!
Follow Ups:
Strange, I have never heard of anyone knocking Thiel's service. I know that they were always there when my 3.5s had issues.
I know someone who bought a house and the owner left Thiel 22s in the basement as he did not want them. The speakers were old and the tweeters were blown. He called Thiel and sent them in and they sent him new drivers knowing how he acquired them. He was amazed. Everything that has ever been made breaks. Every co. can have a bad day or an employee with a bad day. What separates the better cos. is how they ultimately deal with those issues.
as they did the same with my Thiel CS 3.6 blown tweeter. I sent them the blown tweeter and I received the replacement tweeter within 7 business days that was delivered on my front door via UPS at no cost. Of course, my Thiel is still under warranty. All I can say is Thiel’s customer service is first rate on my book.
