I haven't been able to access the Stereophile article so I will ask here and hopefully get some responses. The Antal doesn't seem to elicit a lot of that here for some reason. Anyway, I asked the wife if I could have a pair and she actually said "I don't care what you do" which is good enough for me! Anyway, what music does the Antal do best? I listen to classical but also a lot alternative. So it needs to do both well. I can't hear a pair before I buy so I have to get comfortable somehow with my selection, if I can. Any words of wisdom are appreciated. My buddy has some Triangle speakers that are nice, but not the Antal, which is what originally turned me on to the company to begin with.

Follow Ups:
Most of the music I listen to is classical. I also really enjoy acoustic music and some rock. My Antals shine with them all. I really, really think you should try to hear a pair before you buy a pair.

getting turned on by speakers, and your wife don't give a damn. I'd read in TAS that you're an audiophile if you feel tweaking VTA seems like an enjoyable way to spend an evening.

I owned Zephyr's, and they were fantastic with chamber classical, and small jazz trios. They held up pretty good with other music but Antal's and their multiple drivers would most likely do very well with all kinds of music. I doubt you'll find better speakers to match with ST-70.
And she'll get over it.
And I assume it will actually be easier to get forgiveness when I say "I thought you meant it..." :)I am all hot and bothered for a new pair of speakers, I don't know that I can stop myself at this point. $1,700 from Upscale with shipping. I have a pair of PSB 3LR that I have had for something like 8 years now. They are really good speakers, incredible for the money. Seems like the Antals are the next step up.
