S.O.D Thx for your informative replyHave you heard Duke's speakers first hand
At first glance they look big
Would you know there dimensions
Follow Ups:
taken from the website:
Dimensions: 42" high by 14" wide by 17" deep
Weight: 120 poundshttp://www.audiokinesis.com/product/content_audiokinesis.htm#jazzmodule
I have not heard them first hand but when i was dreaming up a theoretically ideal 2 way design.. i stumbled acoross the jazz modules on the web and they were almost exactly what i had in mind.
lots of positive reviews so far on the web if you look around.http://www.audiokinesis.com/
RCA-Fan has.. you might ask him - posted a review here:

If you audition them yourself or buy them.. pls post a review.. would love to read it.Its interesting that Duke's an expert and dealer of electrostatics - always wonder how that effects his voicing of these 2way creations.
good luck!
there's also the devore gibbon super8 around that price range ( i think) it also gets huge reviews.. may be a little smaller.. but the TAD 1102 in the Jazz Module is likely to eat the gibbon for lunch in the tight snappy bass dept and dynamics..
Thanks Sword of Doom
I will try to contact RCA fan and Duke for more information on these speakersDumb question but how does a top loaded horn sound -i'm now starting to get into uncharted territory LOL
well... from my point of view this isn't exactly a horn.. its a compression driver in a waveguide... it may even be a mylar compression driver.. think i read that someplace... which might make the sound more "fleshy"? anyhow id imagine it sounding very dynamic and quick and due to the waveguide vs a horn very open and less colored.. you'll just have to listen for yourself and then tell the rest of us!the 11" alnico bass driver mated to the 10"? wave guide should make for nice dispersion characteristics and off axis response.
look at the zingali stuff.. http://www.zingali.it/
similar principle i believe but these use a dome tweeter in a waveguide...
good luck!
i feel like im talking myself into these again... they make a lot of sense to me.... id better start saving! lol i haven't even finished my diy project yet!
