I found out about these speakers on Ebay and I was wondering if anyone heard of them?
Follow Ups:
if you like buying speakers from "parts unknown", then perhaps it's worth a shot.
Insignias. Insignias won.
;) schills in the boilerroom wanted a raise for all the forum posts. And the $13 hi-vi tweeters where breaking the bank....
.
They seem fairly priced, and if they perform as claimed, would represent a heck of a bargain.
Actually, it is the frequency response curves that scare me off, believe it or not ?
I have had several pair of ruler flat speakers over the years, and did not really like them.Personally, I like a slight warmth curve.
That is, a curve with a slightly downward response starting at 1K
Ka7nig? Viewpoints seem opposite from yours.
Curves are interesting from an engineering standpoint but useless as a buying tool.
Measure a speaker, get a curve. Move the mic half an inch, get another curve.
Commercially speaking, one could measure until the curve looks good, publish the curve and find words to describe that at 2 degree off axis the +6dB peak is gone...
These small BRSE monitors must be pretty good because one person that heard them said that he liked them better than his floorstanding Merlin's and the Merlin's are really good speakers!
I know the person who made those remarks...I'm not convinced, for several reasons. Merlins are refined speakers.
Best regards,
......do you know just how transparent you really are?
