You seem to be interpreting that as Left & Right channels, when correct comprehension should be EITHER this OR that for both channels (select 1.6 X 1 for BOTH channels OR select 1 X 1.6 for BOTH channels). Two somewhat different shaped arrangments are possible, either might work, try both, but NOT half of one method & half of the other method at the same time.

That makes more sense to me. Thanks
I do believe that the Cardas method of placement was not designed for small rooms. If you had a 16 x 20 ft room then you can't go wrong with the Cardas method.
Can I suggest you try the other methods e.g the equal distance placement i.e speakers are between 6-7 feet apart and the listening position is 6-7ft from either speaker placing as much space as possible between the speakers and the front and side walls. You will probably need to toe-in too.
Thanks for suggestion. After struggling with Cardas method, i've found out that it does not work for me. I'm thinking of using 38% of room. Considering my room size, 38% of 14' would be around 5 ft. So, i either sit 9ft from front wall and spacing speaker in 7ft apart.
With your suggestion, which sitting position do you suggest? or any position as long as they are 6 to 7 ft apart?
