there is no collective mind there. Each writer calls them as he sees them. As always one must take any one person's view with many grains of salt. This writer is far form alone, however, as my own review here and the opinions of many other owners will attest. And of course, all those opinions combined won't have any effect on whether YOU will like them, it just points to a promising candidate.
Follow Ups:
You could say exactly the same thing for the Clever Little Clock. What I think you are saying is that you will draw the line as you see fit. You're entitled to do that, but some of us draw the line elsewhere. Things like integrity matter to some of us, and reviews don't appear in a magazine without editorial approval.
they are simply opinions. Because someone has "integrity", whatever that means, has NO bearing on whether I will agree with him about the sonic properties that I value, in MY system, in MY room. There are NO absolutes that will answer the question about those issues, particularly regarding speakers, the most variable part of the hardware equation. I've owned a couple hundred pair of quality speakers in 40 years in the hobby. I've designed and built more than a few pair. I've got a very good idea about what I like. And that opinion is NOT transferable in any way to anyone else, except as one milepost of many to be considered.
But a magazines content and who they give awards too are!
Now I have nothing against VMPS, as I owned a set of their speakers for years.

P.S. Do you have your Clever Little Clock yet?

on your website- I guess that was different?
I guess that was a long time ago, like over 10 years ago. Note that Mike McCall and Lynn Olsen are gone from PF. You might also look at just what exactly Lynn Olsen is saying these days about the reviewers.
