Any owners care to share their feelings on bass performance? My room size is 17 X 12 X 7.5. I listen to vinyl--mostly rock (Genesis, Yes, Steely Dan) and jazz. I have a pair of Klipsch Fortes that really dominate the room. I love the soundstaging of monitors, but I need some lower end. I am also considering PSB B25s (budget = $500 used).
Follow Ups:
You can get the PSB Image B25s for $500 new. They are an amazing speaker with smooth mids, tight bass that goes fairly deep for a speakwr of this size, and treble thats both revealing but smooth. What I liek about them is that they don't try and do deep bass and get it wrong by pushing out harmonics of the fundamental. And nothing can out image these speakers at even twice the cost. They are that good at it. I went for the ImageT45s cause I wanted the deeper bass that a larger cabinet with two drivers can provide.
I have the v2 Studio 20, in a room about that size, playing rock music. Although I'm using a sub with them, the speakers still sound good alone. The bass in the v1 and v2 is NOT flat, it rises a bit before it rolls off, with the benefits and drawbacks that implies. For rock music, it works well.

Time to bring in the heavy artillery, and get you an Infinity Rabos Subwoofer.
One Infinity Interlude series 12 inch sub w/RABOS, will rock your world.
Once you get accustomed to properly equalized bass, there is no going back.
RABOS is an easy to adjust built in Parametric Equalizer that comes with a kit to make it possible to tune the sub to your room.
Takes about an hour, and thats it.
The little Paradigm is helpless in that size room by itself!
the bass is flat but not particularly deep. You might want a sub with them.
Thanks for the info. I have extensive experience w/ subs and don't want one for music. I guess it's a matter of trade-offs when it comes to monitor imaging and bass extension...
"I guess it's a matter of trade-offs when it comes to monitor imaging and bass extension..." and size and money.
So true...budget is tight right now. Otherwise, I'd probably return to Proac Tablette or 1SC--speakers I've had great luck w/ in the past. Oh well...it is what it is...
Either consider a bigger monitor, or else get a 2-way with a box floor stander. If you want well-articulated, smooth bass, small monitors don't do that. Not enough box. You will find these in many UK mfrs, but those that come most quickly to mind are Harbeth, Proac and Spendor. They aren't cheap. Rega has reasonable prices. So does EPOS. Thet both make floor standing 2-ways.
Quad L series maybe? Reportedly excellent imaging and transaparency with decent bass extension with their small floorstanders.
I really like this speaker, too, and it has good bass for a mini, but it's not what I would call well articulated, as it rolls off very gradually like the other minis.
