Perfect for the music that you listen to and will be a huge jump from Paradigm. Get all of the great qualities of a monitor, plus a more full-bodied midrange, and no stands. These are GREAT speakers. Will work very well with your gear.
JTM'sThey can be placed flat againt a wall and they don't require
high volume levels to sound alive, dynamic.
The opposite of Dynaudio speakers.

Vandersteen 3A Signatures...slightly more money, but worth it...
I auditioned theMicro Talls before buying a pair of Ohm 100 MkII. They are exceptional with all forms of music. I only sent them back as I ended up in a larger room than anticipated.Out of the number of loudspeakers I've owned, these really excel with a glorious midrange and excellent bass for a $1000 speaker.
They offer a 120 day in-home trial so you'll really have a chance to break them in and give them a proper audition.
As you audition floorstanders, try a couple of mini-monitors (Harbeth, Proac, Neat, Quad, Spendor, etc...) and see what you think. For that kind of music floorstanders may even be overkill.
Agreed here. Your room is small and your musical tastes are not complex or bass heavy. A floor stander will probably be overwhelming. Try the nsm's I reviewed below.
I looked at their web page and read review of the smaller model. Can it be used as a book shelf speaker, not on stands? I wouldn't mind using my old Marantz system (67 + 17) in my bedroom.
The very small Role Audio Kayaks can definitely be used as a bookshelf speaker without stands and sound very good, but any speaker will sound better on stands.
I've heard them in a room that small, they were wonderful. Don't forget the Skylan stands.Or consider one of the all time great 'small room' speakers - Stirlings new version of the LS3/5a.
