Well, you noticed I said "I guess" in my post.I first heard the Model 15 in a shop in Paris a few years back and was surprised to learn they were a US made speaker. They sounded fabulous. Then my brother made a trip to Germany and said he saw NSM speakers in a shop there, too. Neither of us had ever heard of NSM.
Did a google search and saw quite a few European links. Never saw them in a US shop and understand that they are sold 'direct' here in the states.
Almost bought NSM until I discovered Merlin....
If the Model 10s is anything like the Model 15- they are a contender.
An excellent review! I own Role Audio Kayaks and I've ecstatic over their performance. NSM/ROLE Audio offers tremendous value.
Thanks. I was very intrigued with the role audio kayaks, but was able to get 10s at a great price. The kayaks are even smaller but I don't doubt that they sound excellent.
I think I read a review from a magazine in Germany before I bought some Model 15's. I agree completely about disappearing in a room, the great midrange, needing a bit more power because of a sealed box design and smooth top end. Very underrated speakers.
They've been in business since the early 90's I think. I usually know of most companies, even the very tiny (1 or 2 man teams). This one barely blipped on my radar. I just about discovered them by accident. Even audioasylum has very little if you do an archive search...
