It seems like everytime I visit the boards you are asking about different speakers. Do you have a picture of your room? I know from experiance that the room can KILL any decent sound you would be getting from the speakers.
Follow Ups:
Sorry I don't have a picture of the room, but there is nothing strange about it that would make for bad sound. Its a plain 14x18x8ft room, carpeted floors, painted sheetrock walls, a small futon and a few other small peices of furniture. Its not that I have not been able to get good sound in the room, I just havent found a speaker that is equally at home playing Metalica as it is playing Fiona Apple. The PSB's were great with the lighter stuff, but was a it polite on the real heavy metal and the Klipsch's are just the opposite!
Try the Thiel CS 3.6.
Really? Iv'e heard the Stratus series and thought they were pretty good with rock. Although I agree they arent the most exciting, but still very musical. The main thing wrong with them I thought was the tweeter seemed sort of peaky. They can also be bright at times.
Not saying they were bad, quite the opposite they are very nice speakers, but the Klipsch's do better with the metal and hardcore music I listen to. The PSB's are a lil to civalized for this kind of music. The PSB's are great speakers though and are better all around than the Klipsch rf-7. But the Klipsch's defenitly can do the heavy rock and metal better. Part of the reason Im buying used is so that i can try a bunch of diffeant speakers and if I dont like them I wont lose any moeny i can just sell them and try something differant.
