I have a Rel Strata III Subwoofer. I have had no trouble at all getting this Subwoofer to Blend seamlessly. Others on this forum have had no trouble either.
You are more apt to muddy your midrange with cabinets that produce the bass as well as the mids. This is why I prefer standmounts.Cut-Throat

cut-throat:Where do you position your sub in relation to your speakers?
What size room are you in?
My sub is between and behind the speakers and about 10 inches from the back wall. My room is rather large 30' x 25'

I have the GR Diluceo's with a REL Strata III about 2' from the back wall, 8" from the side wall. My Diluceos are about 5' from the backwall, and 2' from the side walls.

forgot to mention that the Diluceo's are rated at -3db @ 55hz similar to yours. There is no way that I could localize bass at 55 hz and determine where it was coming from. If you can hear that, hat's off to you!
