whatever. i really couldnt care less if you are happy with my choice.
Follow Ups:
I just wanted to make sure that people understand it's not a question of axiom good/bad, it's the question of your actual background.
I lurk [invisible] in the chats sometimes. I remember you bragging about KLH, then JBL, now axiom.
You are trying to espouse the "knowledge" you have via "research" and in actuality, you just bought a pair of speakers based on a review.
No problem, if they worked out...fine, but it's not because you actually heard them with psb, klipsch and others side by side before purchase.
Who really cares? Leave the guy alone, for christ. He's happy with his speakers and for that I am envious. Some people, myself included, have to rely largely on reviews due to geographical location and lack of certain local availability. Yes, I'll agree with you that listening is the only be all end all and most reviews are a bunch of unscientific, flawed crap, but what's the point of bothering this guy simply because he now likes his Axioms? Look at the bright side (no pun intended), at least he's not going on about new garbage from JBL, KLH, PSB, and Klipsch anymore.
Hi, we haven't been introduced.
I take it you are the in-resident thread moderator?
You seem to spend a lot of time worrying about other people and situations that don't involve you.
You weren't there for a year when jbl err Haoleb flamed and attacked people in chats over KHL and JBL. Now he thinks he is the resident "axiom" expert with a broad background of high fidelity experiance.
I hope he is happy with the axioms, but shouldn't come off like he has this vast wealth of experiance. I have seen him in the chatrooms including his haunting www.audioreview.com chat and aa chat.
Amazing what buying a third set of speakers does for ones total scope of experiance for the under 18 year old with no previous background, and still none in highend.
you really crack me up. if you think your such an authority figure, why dont you reveal your name you use in the chats to me... you sound kind of like lowell, but i dont remeber you being in AR chat. Morg, i dont think he would go down to your level. Or at least not the morg i know. i dunno who are you. Yes, i had liked the jbls, and klh until i had learned more and moved on, and its possible that one day i wont like the axioms anymore. I cant recall flaming and attacking individuals personally, and i really dont see how age comes into play here. Nor "high end" experience. What i really like is how you perceve me to be the axiom resident expert with a vast wealth of experience. Thanks, i take any compliments i get.
I signed on to Ar chat anonymously many times. I didn't use a moniker. And I have never talked to you directly."I cant recall flaming and attacking individuals personally"
Now you are lying. Your memory is even weaker than your high-end knowledge. Fortunately, I remember the long, protracted flame fests you caused.
You have attacked other people many times over how superior KLH and JBL is: you flamed them, and attacked them personally. You cursed at them, asked a question, then flamed the answer. You attacked people with eons more experiance and vastly more knowledge than you have. I was there, just watching. remember, on AR chat, you never knew who was lurking.
You have not revealed your name, except for the multiple monikers you used, like KLH, JBl, Hoeleb.
Flame and attack you have. To state otherwise is a blatent lie.
I would much rather get some impressions from posters than reviews from Stereophile . If you look at reviews at AR I tend to look at previous equiptment people use to gage what they might know from past experience.BTW I really do not think KLH or JBL are bad in relation to say BOSE. Everybody has to start someplace to have a reference. I have Metal Drivers and considerd the Axioms because they came as close as anything I know to what I like from opinions of those that have similar taste and experience with equiptment I have used.
In the 70's KLH and JBL's were highly respected and I still have a set of KLH's someplace. My cousin had DIY JBL drivers in his cabinets that were good for their time.
"If you look at reviews at AR I tend to look at previous equiptment people use to gage what they might know from past experience."
yes, and you get two things: biased owners who blanket and saturate 5 star priase. The other thing: trolls that give products 1 star to spite. Ar is as useless as they come...a total waste."I have Metal Drivers and considerd the Axioms because they came as close as anything I know to what I like from opinions of those that have similar taste and experience with equiptment I have used."
Metal drivers vary wildly. I guaruntee the metal you have sounds different from focal, JBL, Vifa and other metals out there...which incidentally are not all over bright."In the 70's KLH and JBL's were highly respected and I still have a set of KLH's someplace"
In the 70's most of that stuff would barely pass for MIDFI now. paper cone tweeters and boomy midbass doesn't cut it anymore. Nostalgia overrides reality. Those things perform sadly compared to most products today.Take the word of a high school kid over professional reviewers with degrees and experiance. That's always the best way to decide...
NOT.
"I have Metal Drivers and considerd the Axioms because they came as close as anything I know to what I like from opinions of those that have similar taste and experience with equiptment I have used."
Metal drivers vary wildly. I guaruntee the metal you have sounds different from focal, JBL, Vifa and other metals out there...which incidentally are not all over bright."No,mine were designed by Bill Kieltyka of NEAR who was the first to successfully implement them ,now they are alot using metal. If there was anyone I would trust with the technology it would be him!
Mine are not close to being bright, but more neutral. Alot depends on what you get for sound using Metal Drivers as the system synergy is a main factor. As an example people that have used DH Labs have remarked about brightness using Metal Drivers. Another is Krells intergrated amp which for some reason has this trait when used with NEARs.Krell amps are another story as they do not give this trait.
As far as AR reviews. There are those who do not give 5tars and do read alot of them and look to hte reason why. There are also those that do not troll and those that give honest opinions based on years of listening with different equiptment.
It does help to read betweent the lines at AR I do know that.
Their BB's are the least informative or helpful of all the BB's I have read or been to BTW!

I am done with this thread. what i want to know is, what kind of person sits in a chat room invisible, just watching. not taking part in the discussion. just watching.
cd
You are sick bud.
Nonparticipants in an audio chat have, and always existed. Has nothing at all to do with sex.
You jumped into this thread, and tried to create an argument from nothing. You are befriending/defending this kid that I clearly caught in a lie.
Not once did I say anything againts metal drivers or new england audio research.
You should get out more often, and think about who you choose as allies.
It was not meant to be sexual! Looks like you need to look into your own phobias. Ever hear of a Horn Toad, but it was refering to your handle with Horn in it!
"You should get out more often,"and... this is coming from a person who sits in chatrooms invisivble just sitting there watching.
Besides, I waited until you left to talk to intelligent people....I didn't lurk all the time, I simply said I didn't talk to YOU.
