I am considering of purchasing a Mini and/or Baby Advents for a mini component system. Are these speakers any good? how do they sound? Are they designed byHenry Kloss?
Thanks for responding?

I use to own some mini II's but have never heard the babies. Hands down they are the best looking small monitor I have owned. Even after they were no longer in use I placed them on a bookshelf in the living room because they added a nice touch of class.Sound wise they are pleasant. While they don't excel in any area overall they have a very nice overall sound with no distracting characteristics.
Without a subwoofer they do sound small compared to some of the other minimonitors I have owned; PSB Alpha mini, Aperion 502d and Pinnacle PN5+.
With a small sub in a reasonably size room they should provide a very nice system on the cheap. They sell for under $50 used on ebay. Pyle makes a 8" subwoofer that can be had for around $100 that offers an unbelievable value for the money.
Without a sub the babies would be a better option. However these are quite large for book shelves 17x11x6 while the minis are around 10x6x6. Also diehard Advent owners don't count the baby's or minis as being classic Advents.
I'm currently looking for a set of the Advent II's indoor/outdoor version so obviously despite my small criticisms they are a fine monitor for the price you will find them used.
I'm thinking of picking up a pair for a third system, which currently has a pair of larger Advents. This pair is about 18x10x8. Really good sound, all things considered including the $20 thrift store price. But I'm curious about the little Advents too.
Old Advents including Baby & Baby II sound great for the price. But beware the cone foam deteriorates. You've got to pull off the covers and check them carefully. There are kits out there to repair them if you like but they may cost more that the speakers.
The foam was in excellent condition. Actually, I think it was rubber but haven't looked for a while. They were in surprisingly good condition, however.
