Looking for opinions on the vintage RTR speakers - My work associate has a pair of Monitors he may be looking to sell. I remember the ads from way back, but haven't listened to them.

Had some fine times with two RTR speakers models...(I believe the model #'s are correct) the 180 and the 280..both floorstanders. I recall Audio did a review of the 280's and called them one of the best speakers out their period. Now this was in 75... I sold my EPI 202's in order to buy a pair of the 280's. Lived w/them for 2 years until I heard Magnepan's...(the rest is history),.. Anyway I don't hear much about RTR's and hardly ever does one hear about the 180's/280's. The 280's had 4- 10 inch woofers, one facing down, the other 3 on the sides and front face...above & below each (of the 3 upper woofers) were 2 tweeters..the lower woofer was (thought to be) a bit of a sub-woofer...as I recall. Nice sounding system..ended up trading them for a ReVox reel-to-reel...don't know if that was the smartest thing to do...but a quality 'big name' audio speaker for it's time...think the company started to make lesser speakers as it neared it's demise..They did make some great electrostatic tweeters as well.
I still play a four of them in my HT setup - B&W HTM-1 center. I liked some of them very much. I wonder what model you might have.
