Greetings Gentlemen,
I just purchased a pair of KLH Model 6's ser#'s 064348 and 060591 at the local Goddwill for $5 for the pair. I don't have any way to check them until I get home, but I tried to remove the grill and could not figure out how to do this. Any suggestions?
What can I expect as far as sound,? What problems are typical with these? When were they produced?
Follow Ups:
Excellent speakers!! I bought a pair of KLH Model Six about thirty years ago and they said then that they had not been modified since their introduction in 1958! (serial number of mine is 063200). I am not using them anymore, but from time to time I connect them and they still surprise me with their good sound. They were manufatured in Cambridge, Mass. It's a two speaker system with a 12 inch big driver and a small, couple of inches, tweeter. Crossover is 1500 HZ. They can be used vertically or horizontally on a book shelf. They require a minimum of 15 watts per channel (steady state). They claimed their frequency response goes from 32 to 16 k Hz. If I remember correctly they costed me $ 130.00 in 1974. Grills were easyly removable, though.
