Simple. Stay away.

I posted an actual issue that I encountered with this company. Sadly, my post is no longer present.I wonder why it was removed?
Guys, American Theater Systems should be avoided at any and all costs. Fighting with these guys for nearly 6 weeks to get a credit applied back to my card is not my idea of fun. Plus they display 2 personalities: 1) They are very nice, cordial, etc. when making the purchase. However ... 2) When you have an issue, return, etc. - the dark veil comes out. They treated my wife like crap when she asked about the credit. They called the representative from my credit card company a fraud when the rep indicated that they had not applied the credit.
Folks, There are plenty - and I do mean plenty of other legitimate vendors out there. Spend your money wisely ... and elsewhere!
Dear Buyer,I HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL THINGS THOURGH AMERICAN THEATER SYSTEMS, INC. I DO ALOT OF INSTALLS AND HAVE BEEN PURCHASING EQUIPTMENT FROM AMERICAN THEATER FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS. THE EQUIPTMENT THEY OFFER HAS A WARRANTY AS I HAD SOMETHING REPAIRED ONCE AND HAD ABSOLUTELY "NO HASSLE" WHO ARE YOU? WHY DID YOU PLACE A ORDER AND CANCEL IN TWO BUSINESS DAYS AND THEN COMPLAIN ALL OVER THE NET AFTER YOU RECEIVED A CREDIT. I HAVE BOUGHT OVER $30,000 WORTH OF GEAR AND HAVE NOTHING BUT GREAT THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS COMPANY. THEY ALWAYS GO THE EXTRA MILE. I ASSUME YOU DO NOT BUY HIGH END GEAR BECAUSE THATS WHAT THE SPECIALIZE IN. YOU SOUND LIKE SOMEONE WHO PURCHASED A LOW END PIECE OF EQUIPTMENT AND THEN MADE A 100 PHONE CALLS LOOKING FOR TRACKING NUMBERS..
I THINK YOU MAKE IT HARD FOR THE REST OF US TO GET GREAT DEALS ON THE NET!! I LOVE THIS COMPANY! TAKE YOUR COMPLAINTS ELSEWHERE I KNOW ALOT OF DIFFERENT AUDIO VIDEO STORES AND WILL BE SURE TO ALERT THEM ABOUT YOU. THEY WILL NOT SELL YOU AFTER SEEING THE COMMENTS YOU MADE.. HAVE FUN PAYING FULL PRICE CAUSE NO COMPANY OFFERING DEALS WANTS TO SELL A PERSON WHO PLACES ORDERS AND CANCELS FOR NO REASON. HOW ABOUT THIS WHEN YOU ARE READY TO PURCHASE A PRODUCT CALL. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD THE PRODUCT DON'T BUY!
SIGNED,
John,Glad it worked out for you. Why did I cancel?
1) Wanted the 4600 Yamaha instead, which wasn't shipping at the moment.
2) Read enough bad press about this company. I felt they didn't deserve my business. Why am I complaining all over the Internet?
1) I'm not. I'm just simply relaying my experiences with this company.
2) They were nice when they were making the sale.
3) They treated my wife like crap when asked about the credit.True, I did receive my credit back from them ... after 6 weeks. Plus, by that time, interest had to be paid to my credit card for the amount.
Had they been more "professional" and handled the refund when they "said" they were going to, I wouldn't have a beef with them at all. However, what they dragged my wife, my credit card company and myself through deserves to be heard.
Authorized reseller?
1) I hardly find that believable. Maybe, on some products.
Using all CAPS when one types?
1) Well, we all know how we feel about those folks.
Enjoy!
Dear (Why did my post get CUT OFF)Hey,
Maybe, You are just the type of guy who lets your wife dictate everythng you BUY!! (Did she get LIPOSUCTION)
Its so sad that you had to make up those stories about that company so your wife would not get upset.
STAND UP!! Be a man! Stop be in control!!
I feel so sorry for you.
you can go to www.husbands@thewifehenpeckedclub.control.com this helps!! just get some help U need it..
P.S. This is a website so Audiophiles can talk about amps and Pre amps. Please take you marital problems ELSEWHERE. We do not need WIMPS like you on this THREAD> > >
I thought I should add that when I make a purchase and the vendor is outstanding to deal with, I also let my experiences be known. I don't just complain when something goes wrong. I also express my good experiences, which fortunately, outweigh the bad ones.
Well, I just purchaed a brand new plasma (Pioneer Elite Pro-1120HD, Tom installed it with a Kef Kht 5005 System with a Yamaha Rxv-2500 and it was OUTSTANDING!! These peope at American Theater Systems really NO What they are doing!Call Them! Just go to audiogon www.audiogon.com Check out there feedback and Call! USER ID: american_theater You will get the best price/service.
Cookie38,You are starting to look silly here. We're glad you are happy with American Theater Systems.
However, I'm not sure you even know who you are at the moment.
First, you reply as:
JOHN TSIEG
LOYAL CUSTOMER OF AMERICAN THEATER SYSTEMSThen, you reply as:
Johnny Terestervini
AudiophileAgain, the customers can and will decide. They can look at my post, see my experiences and decide if they really want to be hassled with American Theater System. Then, they can also look at your posts - whether you're John or Johnny ... or whoever, and decide if they want to buy from ATS, since your experience was so good.
Plus, I think we owe it to the potential customers to know that the rating system at Audiogon is a broken tool. Why? You ask. Because, when negative feedback has been submitted, it will never see the light of day unless the vendor responds to the query. American Theater Systems fails to respond to negative complaints under Audigon, so they can live with their 78 positive comments and 2 neutral comments, because with numbers like that, they look pretty good.
Finally, there's no need to worry about the broken Audigon rating system. There's also ResellerRatings.com - which accepts both positive and negative feedback. Since ATS decided they just want to have their feedback reflected in a positive light under Audiogon, they are also present under ResellerRatings.com - as of a week or so ago. Now, unhappy customers can post their experiences with ATS - without having ATS hide the negative comments regarding bad customer experiences.
Have a good day, :)
How amusing cookie38 is both JOHN TSIEGH (how creative) and Johnny Terestervini (very creative). Seems cookie has a multiple personlity disorder in addition to a sexual identity crisis.JOHN TSIEGH bought over $30,000 worth equipment from ATS. Then when he/she turned into Johnny Terestervini he/she had Tom from ATS do an "install".
Of course I don't "NO" I'm not very good at math but I think that
cookie38+JOHN TSIEGH+Johnny Terestervini=American Theater Systems.
If you check the classified section of this forum, there are several posts by Dr_Audio@MSN.com. This is American Theater Systems under one of their many guises. Also, the ID this individual used under EBay sales was Dr_audio.
The owners of this forum were to check the IP addresses for posts made by DR_Audio@MSN.com and Cookie38, whether they would match?Probably so is my guess.

HAVE BEEN IN THE CONSUMER ELECTRONICS BUSINEES FOR 25 YEARS , I worked for Vivek he in fact is the owner, of 'these" businesses! The problem is that this kind of business and businessmen are CON ARTIST's they use 'slight-of-hand' to trick you into a sale - The reason they keep on changing thier names is becasue after a few months of screwing around with their customers they get a well earned BAD REPUTATION, so they HAVE TO change their name !!!
Call them .............at the 4-5 different names they are currently using-their BAD ATTITUDE comes thru no matter what business you called -You can take the boy out of the ghetto , but you cant take the ghetto out of these boy's!Shady Lane

This Kevin guy and American Theater Systems has got to be about the most shady ... or, should I say shifty character?
B-U-S-T-E-D !!!!
Of course they would match. But even if the didn't you can pin them out a mile away. The saddest thing is you can tell there is an underlying problem from what they post and how.Look at the videogon and audiogon posts they claim to have variously 25,26 and 27 years experience. Which is it?
Look at the time of the last post add 3 hours as they are in EDT. 2:50 in the morning. Should tell you something if you've read anything else about this company.
