Even had legit page if you clicked through warning of scams and asking for your acount info. I know, he should not have even clicked.

I also received one. To the unaware it might seem legit. Aside from already knowing about phish e-mails I would never respond to it because I cancelled my paypal account two years ago and it was sent to my business e-mail address which was never associated with the account.
It is a very old scam... I wonder how many people do actually "confirm" their passwords ;)))
I get a couple of those a week, it seems like. I usually fill in fake numbers, along with some name like Ben Dover or Chuck U. Farley. Just far enough so they're not really sure whether it's real or not, so they go to all the trouble to use it and it doesn't work. And some fake address that would be about 20 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico.
