I bought a TEAC Dolby noise reduction adaptor from a guy on eBay, and he didn't take PayPal. He was very slow to respond, and I wondered whether he was just not happy that I had won the auction for the opening bit of ten bucks. He quoted me a ridiculous price for shipping as well.Anyway, I sent him a USPS money order by first class mail almost 2 months ago and he insists he didn't get it ... and to "check to see if it has been cashed". I think he just tore it up because he wasn't happy with the selling price. What do you guys think?
Follow Ups:
Did you save your copy to prove to him you bought the M.O.? Yea I hate those guys that don't quote shipping in advance and then whack you when the item gets little money. For me though the kicker will be what he says now. Is he willing to accept another payment for the same deal? You can stop payment probably and get another. Surely some fee will be involved. Good luck.
Yes, I have the money order receipt, along with the postage receipt. The problem is that I live in Canada; and although I travel to the U.S. a lot, I still have to wait until I get back there to do a trace on the M.O. with the U.S. Post Office.I thought about offering to send another payment, but since he doesn't accept PayPal, there is nothing to stop him from not receiving a second M.O. or a third, etc. if he really doesn't want to honour the deal.
The item is not at all rare, so I am just going to find another one being sold by someone who takes PayPal. I am just irritated by these losers.
Send a second payment with a delivery confirmation. Everyone will know that payment has been received and you'll have documented proof.eso
Can't you just report it lost?http://www.usps.com/money/sendingmoney/moneyorders/welcome.htm
I much as I resent Paypal and the fees associated, yours is a clear example of a rare case where it would have been a good thing. I too would be curious if this seller will still honor the deal with a second payment from you
