Quite frankly, the Tannoy dmt 15II's will not even wake up with less than 30wrms of serious high current, trust me from (still current) experience with them...I would go even so far as to say 60rms absolute minimum, but whatever you do, try the amp you select with your speakers otherwise disappointment will be your sole consolation.
Although on paper they appear quite sensitive, they do in fact soak up power like nobodies business with a large area of mass to move and control....to stick with tubes for them I had to resort to my 80wrms p/ch PP which sounds half decent, any less was sounding anaemic.
They are quite unlike the early large diameter tannoys as far as being easy to drive...in fact I've had far greater success with 13wrms of SET power into Martin Logans which would seem just the opposite...go figure !
Follow Ups:
I have had the 13EM7 SET amp for extensive evaluation and it is a stunner! In typical Music Reference/Roger Modjeski fashion a brilliant little amp with a BIG 3 watts. Using the dissimilar triode 13EM7, the driver side is similar to 6SL7 and the big side electrically identical to 2A3, and the timbral qualities, and typical highly resolving, neutral vibe of a common genetic. With plenty of bass reach, he has really hit the mark with this amp. Using it very successfully with Omega SuperHemps.
