Did anyone build it? Opinions? 2A3 vs 45?

Hi
I just build the A-08S 45 Kit. It is stunning!! I had built a 811A amp Shishido San style, but once I finished the 45 Amp, I took my 811A amp into the garage..The sonics are great, the bass is unbelievable!! overall a fantastic amp..
I am planning to build a 300B using the same driver circuit, I think Yamamoto San's secret is around the selected parts, especially his output transformers..
I recommend it whole heartedly!!
I couldn't see it listed in the link, and a google didn't reveal anything.
Here it is:
I purchased both the A08 and A08-S kits from them. Excelletn service and quick, resolution of minor issues (defective NOS 45 tubes).I'm currently using the A08-S (45, haven't heard the 2A3 version) in my main system. I had previously used Wavelength Triton, Cardinal X1 or Venus monos.
They only seem to be posting prices for completed amplifiers.
What's the difference betwen the versions - technically and sonically?

There are some good posts below that will answer your questions.Technically the main difference is that the A-08 uses AC for the 45 filament and the A-08S uses DC. The A-08S adds an output current meter and switch so you can check the condition of either output tube.
Hi,This website has the detailed info on differences between the A-08 and A-08s

question but I built the A-08 kit about a two years ago and the construction manual that comes with the unit is first rate (kinda). The color photographs contain detailed shots of all the stages of construction with closeups of wiring and component placement. If you find it easier to work from photographs rather than the written word, then this kit is for you. The text of the manual, almost humorous at times, seems to have been translated by Babel Fish or the like. High quality components and teflon wiring complement the kit. A nice feature of the amp is that it has a 6.3 vac tap for the output tubes so you can wire it for 6A3 and VT-52 tubes as well. The 2.5 volt tap has enough current to run 2a3s safely, but you'd want to change the bias resistor to 750 ohms in this case. I purchased my kit from Brian at AA Sponsor Venus HiFi. Support for the product was second to none. Thanks for posting the link, I didn't realize that they were making the A-06 again, I'll have to contact Brian to order a kit! Regards, wpod
Cool looking amp! Have not built one, but looks like fun.
