any one else still love their Almarro?
Follow Ups:
I still use my A205A all the time - it's a great little amp!
I have SN#1 of the A318A. According to Muramatsu-san, this was a prototype and was never meant for sale - even though it looks just like the final production unit.Needless to say, I plan on keeping it for a long time!
I have a modified A318B with Reference 3A's. Still think it's a great amp.
people, not 'things'. Things just do not seem that important, but each to their own.Are you still in love with your Almarro - you did not say?
yea I am still in love with my A205Agot her hooked to some altec 19s
about the best sound you can get without spending
major $$$the swap to teflon vcap coupling caps is what put the amp
in such high praise!
I did it based on your posts about it and it really elevates an already marvelous amp
glad you like the VCAPSthey improve over a 3 month period
also try some GE oval grey plate el84s
they sound great in the amp!
what are your thoughts on V Caps for 2A3, or DHT in general?I just picked up a pair of new Hashimoto 2.5 Tx' on eBay, now I have to build a 2A3. I am interested in whether the caps would be extravagant in this situation...
What speakers and source are you using with your Almarro? What tube combo in your amp?
I'm using a Don Allen Cakepan amp, which is in the same type (and size) of amplifier (EL84), feeding the Fritz Loudspeaker Hemptone Towers.... This combo is disgusting.... Musical, transparent, coherent, microdynamics, you name it.... Comparable to my two home setups. Maybe better if I improve the digital source.
