I happen to own both Quad 57s and Fi 2A3 monos. Don Garber once told me Quad 57s were amongst his favorite speakers but didn't think his amps would ever drive them. I never tried.I did ask him if he would ever build an amp to drive 57s and at that time he said he was too busy. He did recommend an amp that would drive them.
Follow Ups:
I have heard ESL57s with Fi 300B monoblocks. Magic in a small room with Jazz. My *guess* is the 2A3s will not have enough juice.
Curious: What amps did Don recommend for the ESL57?

Kondo. Not sure which model. The best amps I have ever heard are the Emotive Audio Vitas.
I figured he would have said Kondo. Probably the push- pull, 60- watt 845's. I wish I had a pair. Rave review by Herb Reichart in Listener, made the show rounds, wound up at In Living Stereo as floor demos. Who has them now?...
I would guess not, if only because 60 watts is a bit high for the original ESLs. Could arc a treble panel with that much power.
