I agree about the EML 45 variant. I have these in the Korneff 45 and there is NOTHING like it...that is what goes in the Korneff 45.

The tube may not be a *real* 45 but in the JK amp there is nothing better.
All of em. The "2A3" is supposedly a mighty tower of Thermionia. Roger Modjeski at some point will have his idea of a 2A3. Look for 6-7 watts of glory. Add the EML's, and be happy. They are tough as hell too.
that is why i wanted to experiment... with cheaper NOS. I WONder if i should have just bit the bullet and got another pair of eml. they are great.. i have heard nos are better than any 45 on the market now. i guess i will find out for myself. i will keep you posted.thanks
Good luck with the NOS and don't burn a lot of $$$ on them. Try one pair of NOS and you will be back to the EML.
how bout the golden tube brand from china... they can be had for 100 bucks a pop factory direct from china..
i wonder..
I was not aware of the Golden Tube 45's. The TJ's need hum pots on the JK. My amp does not have the pots so I have not tried them.
My apologies, golden tube may have been confused with something I read. I will have more answers/ impressions when my tubes arrrive tonight! Why oh why must tubes be so expensive. and why must i get the most expensive tube model (generally), and the most expensive brand. This is not the first time i walked into something like this lol...
You do it because you are a Tubaholic. The cure: send me all your tubes and I will properly dispose of them. I will pay the postage..
