Hello db
While Jeffrey is correct about the Platinums being a very nice capacitor. Many have felt the ASL 845 amps to be a bit aggressive in the upper end. This is, of course, a matter of personal preference and I would base your decission on what you are currently experiencing with your amps.
If you too find some agression up top, something along the lines of the Jensen or Audio Note PIO's may be a better route to take. If you are looking for a very clean, articulate presentation, the Platinums will be the choise to get you in that direction.
You could also try a combination in the different positions to get just teh right sound for you, also as jeffrey mentioned. He has a lot fo experience with the ASL 845's and has done some experimentation.
Follow Ups:
If the 1006s are a little 'agressive' on the top, the SCP may NOT be what he wants. Maybe a little warming with the Jensen PIO/CFs, and if after they're broken in, if genelex feels it's lacking a little 'air', he could add, say, a 0.047 SCP bypassing the Jensens.

Yes Jeffrey, I agree completely. You may not have noticed but my first sentance mentions the Oils may be a btter route to take as I have copied below. While I have experienced good results with bypassing oils with Teflon units, I am not a big fan of doing this in coupling positions unless you are familiar with using the proper values to get the best results.By the way Jefferey, Did I understand you correctly that you purchased another pair of Canes? If so, did you order a pair of the new version coming out in a few weeks?

...of the PIO/CF Jensens. They're quite affordable, and I may try them next time. No, I've not purchased another pair of 'Canes; I have just one pair. I have ordered a pair of the new AQ1006s, which are supposed to be built more vertically (like the Cadenza, I assume) and have better transformers. We'll see what gets here. (Of course I've already dreamed up a bunch of improvements for them...on paper.)
