Hi Dave, I have two earlier records - "Gravitational pull vs the desire for an aquatic life" & "Music for nitrous oxide" - both fit your description of the new release. They are also both on suitably obscure indie labels (Kranky & Sedimental). Having said that, you shouldn't have too much difficulty tracking them down.
I find myself constantly discovering "new" bands, only to discover they have five or more albums out. My latest was 'Of Montreal', I had never heard of them until the latest record, and loe and behold they have nine previous releases!
Follow Ups:
The latest SOTL is also on Kranky.
Do you know Qua?
They are playing a surround sound event here this week with suggestions to bring cushions as the audience will all be lying on the floor.
Hi Dave,
No, I have never heard of Qua. Are they an offshoot of SOTL? By the sound of the concert, they ought to be :)
... they could/should be.Try here and download a track or two...
Thanks Dave. I'll give them a listen.
