Just saw the Zombies live a couple of nights ago. Fabulous band. Colin Blunstone remains one of the great singers in British rock. Highly recommended - don't let their recent studio output put you off.
Follow Ups:
There was a special on British Invasion rock on our local PBS station last night. Zombies were on, as well as lots of others such as Gerry And The PAcemakers, Lulu, Animals, etc. Look for a repeat, lots of good stuff.
Saw them 2 years ago, fantastic.
My favourite, Hold Your Head Up.
Wife's favourite, God Gave Rock & Roll To You.
Presume Mr. Argent was there belting it out.
The Zombies SUCK, get over it!
I ws prepared for old men sounding like sh*t. They rocked. Standing O's.
"The Zombies SUCK, get over it!"They do suck, now. Their show at Town Hall in NYC a few years ago (for which Love opened) illustrated what a bad Vegas act they've become. We left right after Rod Argent 'cleverly' quoted "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" during his seemingly-unending keyboard solo in the godawful "Hold Your Head Up." Love, BTW, were great. Arthur Lee was a model of unpredictable lunatic genius.
But the Zombies WERE brilliant. Odessey and Oracle makes "Pet Sounds" its bitch. No two ways about it.
"She's not There". I have a boot. That guitarist was the worst thing they ever did.
