I find the Village People to be a little....you know.....ummm...off, if you know what I mean. Sometimes Elton John or Judas Priest can be that way too. I don't know what it is.......
Follow Ups:
I don't think Judas Priest is twee - just the opposite - appealing to Mulletheads, worldwide. When Rob Halford came out, I was kinda surprised, but didn't change my opinion of Judas Priest.Husker Du, comprised of two gays (Bob Mould and Grant Hart), was also very non twee.
Sexuality of the artists doesn't affect my like or dislike of a song, band, etc.
is a term, abet a newer one, that would seem to fit seemlessly. Nothing against twee ness mind you, just it seems so.....er....sensitive?
effeminate?
