Follow Ups:
Here's the line-up:Backing Kaukonen are the outstanding talents of Barry Mitterhoff (Hot Tuna), Rob Ickes (Blue Highway), Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble), Tim Stafford (Blue Highway, Alison Krauss), Greg Leisz (Dave Alvin) and Sally Van Meter (Tony Furtado Band). Produced by Byron House (Sam Bush Band), Stars in My Crown is the album that fans and critics have been anxiously awaiting.
I have to say that last year when I saw Hot Tuna live with David Bromberg, I was a bit underwhelmed by Jorma's peformance (and Bromberg made the show). I consider it an off night for Jorma, as he has been a modern day blues master on other occasions.
Bromberg has a new CD called "Try Me One More Time" which is soon to be released. This is his first release since 1990-something.
There's also a new Ry Cooder CD about to be released called "My Name is Buddy".
I've got all of these on pre-order.
Ken
is the Jorma being released as SACD? I may wait for awhile to see.....terrific line up, thanks for the tip.
No announcement on the Jorma release at sa-cd.net so I'm guessing it will not be released on that format.Blue Country Heart is a lot of what is good about SACD. Very dynamic, extended, and the details sound very smooth. The redbook version also sounds very good, but the SACD is better.
I'd like to order used remastered versions of the 2 Hot Tuna Live at Sweetwater CD's someday.
Ken
is an outstanding disc. The sound is textbook perfect and the cast of pickers is top shelf as well. I stun my guests with it often....
