I think if you did, you probably wouldn't care what they called it. Someone in Central claimed it may be one of the best albums of the last 20 years. I am inclined to agree it is one of the best.
Follow Ups:
it ain't Tears for Fears. No Curt.
A band's name is a brand.
If Coca Cola can change a recipe (admittedly every time they do this sales go down but you can't have everything!) and still be Coke.
If Real Madrid can dump David Beckham and still be Real MAdrid.
If the republicans can throw out Geor... hang on that hasn't happened yet...
But if something comes out under a brand name then that's it.
Finito. ENd of story.
If you want to get really tied in knots try finding out who plays on all the Parliament and Funkadelic discs.
They are recording contracts and that's all.
But when someone uses the legal right to call themselves XYZ, and hucksters fool an audience into buying tickets, your inquiry is short sighted. If I buy the name Peaches and Herb and show up solo playing the ukelele, you don't think that is a misrepresentation, LEGAL rights or no? Sorry, WAY more to it than that.
As we all seem aware of who (at least as far as original members go, is involved in all of these instances discussed here, then there appears to be no problem.
Well, you're right of course but that's the business side of it. To fans I think it does matter who is in a group
