Rage Against the Machine, the seminal L.A. band that made heavy music into political manifesto, will reunite after a seven-year lull for one show as the headliners at the 2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.Sources say Rage, which played the main stage at the first Coachella in 1999, will be joined by other familiar faces for the eighth edition of the festival, which covers three days this year and begins April 27: Red Hot Chili Peppers, which headlined in 2003, are back, as is Björk, who topped the bill in 2002.
Organizers were mum this weekend and it was not clear which day Rage or the other acts were slotted to play; that announcement is expected in the next few days. Other acts expected in the eclectic lineup: Arcade Fire, Interpol, Willie Nelson, the Roots, Manu Chao, the Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth, Crowded House, Air, Tiësto and Kings of Leon.
Follow Ups:
80s at a small club in Berkeley.....Although I wasn't a huge fan of their music, they were amazing. When they first took the stage, - I thought that they were miming to the record; that's how great the sound quality was. We felt embarassed that we were so bad in comparison. But Neil did use/borrow my amp... :-)
If you have a band like Radiohead, - who's drummer is mediocre to average, - the answer is "whatever." But you cannot replace a Keith Moon, a Neil Pert, a Stephen Morris, Mel Gaynor, or a Reni. (The Who are such a huge thing. It's my opinion that they could've just gotten away with calling themselves Entwistle/Daltry/Townsend, - especially now that it's just Daltry/Townsend).
Especially a drummer who either participates, or is a major factor in writing the music/song.

inn are they talking about? Crowded House?? Without Paul, no way.
Its all about the money..You should know that.
so the rumour goes, They are currently in vancouver bc rehearsing for a week..
Or are you guessing?
Music is like shooting fish in a barrel.
We know here who would sell it as "Crowded House" of they were a Bay area business!!!!
make it solo and has to reform with 66% of his band and calls it .......
Shout out to Neil Finn: Instead of conning people into seeing something called Crowded House without Paul Hester, try making listenable albums, instead of "Try Selling This!".
I don't know if you saw this or not, you might've linked it below but I'm not up on Crowded House threads. If you didn't see this, you'll probably find it interesting.
Without Paul Hester is it Crowded House??
Does it change your vier to find out that for a short while Paul quit in 1994 and Crowded House did play with another drummer? What if that same guy joins? There are no wrong answers!!! I would value people's opinions on the topic.
I'm not a fan, I linked these here because I know you are. There are some outfits where using the name is a travesty & others where I can't see why anyone would have a problem with it. I think you went way overboard on Moby Grape, I can't imagine you would've been that vehement about an objection to that show using that name if it weren't for LWR.To me it's a joke that the Who are using that name, but when the lineup's rhythm section was Entwistle & Starkey it seemed way more like the Who than anything they ever did with Kenney Jones. Then there's Queen, perhaps you saw my arguments with Audiophilander about them using that name with Paul Rodgers on vocals. That's the worst f*cking live album I've ever heard, and regardless of Rodgers' merits as a rock vocalist, Freddie Mercury he ain't. But my appreciation for Queen is limited enough for me to not care, and if Auph's got enuf crap in his ears to not hear the difference, then let him & whoever else wants to, enjoy it.
I certainly am less suspicious and more tolerant of BS from most other people. If thee were ever one man "groups" they would be Credence Clearwater, Santana, Outlaws, and Moby Grape. Any of them without the OBVIOUS leader would be bogus.
Certainly not his lack of class, because he's chosen to be an arsehole. J apparently has either smoked one too many (J's) or has his head up his arse; your pick.
Computer says "naahh".
only if no one else fills his spot. If anyone could do this, they could.
