"But this is NOT the room for discussion of tweaks; AA has rooms for that."Tweaks are great things to discuss from a scientific or technical standpoint. I think your statement should read "This is not the room for SUBJECTIVE, non-technical discussion of tweaks."
Just as other forums have rules (NO DBT's for example), PHP should have rules too. Like... you can't explain how something works on PHP by saying:
-Proof is in the pudding!
(Great for those who's engineering abilities end at making pudding.)
-I know it works because I heard the difference!
(Completely disregards the potential for placebo effects)
-You can't comment on things you have not tried!
(So before a man was put on the moon nobody could talk about it in a technical capacity?)
-If you tried it you would "believe too"!
(I don't want to "believe", I want to understand. Please know the difference.)
Follow Ups:
...nobody is stopping you from having your technical discussions. So what's the gripe anyway?
Damn you, that was too well put, I especially liked "-Proof is in the pudding!
(Great for those who's engineering abilities end at making pudding.)"
